NETTLE MOTHER
Weaving Love, Healing and Enchantment - an upcoming program
Nettle Mother is a six-week sacred storytelling and creative journey, guided by the green, fierce wisdom of nettle, a plant of the edges, the waysides, and disturbed ground, who brings restoration, nourishment, and strength.
This journey is included in the Paid Subscription only
This is a creative immersion in myth, memory, and the transformation with weaving. Together we will trace the ancient processes of gathering, preparing, spinning, and weaving nettle fibre, inviting an inward spiralling journey through psyche, heart, body, and land.
We’ll be held by the ancient hearth of the first mothers, by shapeshifting tales of nettles and birds, grief, and devotion, including the story of The Twelve Wild Swans, as we explore the power of silence, attention, and steadfast presence. How enchantment is transformed into freedom. How nettles nourish and teach on so many levels.
Through imaginal journeys, mythic wandering, creative expression (writing, art, movement), and conversations, we open to what Nettle Mother is offering each of us now: about boundaries and regeneration, endurance and love. Threading our own lives with greater integrity and presence, by loosening old stories not rooted in self-respect.
Nettles weave wholeness.
Gathering - Meeting nettle as plant and teacher. Preparing for the journey. Slowing down. Listening with the body.
Retting - Entering the river. Soaking, loosening, breaking open what has been tightly held. Hearing the voices of swan-women and the call to change.
Stooking - Drying and tending. Release and patience. Sitting at the hearth with the first mothers and ancestral weavers. Remembering lineage.
Scutching & Hackling - Cracking and combing the fibres. Separating chaff from what matters. Silence, devotion, and the strength of not speaking.
Spin Sister - Feeding the spindle. Fibres becoming one long thread. Grief, distillation, memory, and the gathering of coherence.
Warp & Weft - Weaving rhythm, prayer, and enchantment. Threading story into life. The making of sacred cloth that transforms and blesses with protection and love.
This journey is about weaving a strong, rooted, wildly engaged life, trusting your own inner timing and clarifying boundaries. We’ll be listening for the voices in the land, with nettle as an ally, and reconnecting with the ancestral lineage of weaving women.
BEGINS Monday Feb 16, 10.30-12.00pm Sydney / USA PST Sunday Feb 15, 3.30-5pm
This story chalice of nettle and swans has been brewing for the past five years, since nettle appeared out of the blue, and so out of her usual environment, in our sandy desert garden. She rerooted my life. becoming a guide and teacher, revealer of truth, dispeller of illusions, and fierce protector of boundaries.
May she offer you blessings, likewise!
